Angar Morejón is a Spanish writer defined, above all, by his reinvention. At sixty, after overcoming a coma that turned his life a hundred and eighty degrees a decade ago, he decided not to give in to the doors closing around him, but to open new ones instead.
Before that, there were many lives within a single one: electronics and sound technician, DJ, video enthusiast, and, for eleven years, the person in charge of the electronic scoreboards at major Spanish football stadiums. A path shaped by technical trades, by music, and by a passion for detail.
It all began in 1982, at just seventeen, spinning records every day at the "Super 7" in Moratalaz, Madrid. He never sought to be a virtuoso of the mix, but something harder: to play the song the crowd needed to hear in that exact moment.
"Life is only lived once,
and no matter how hard you try,
tomorrow might be too late."
More than forty years later, music remains his travel companion. "Me, myself, and music — we're already three," he likes to say.
Until the coma, Angar had barely written a single word.
It was only afterward that he began writing almost everything down. With his eyesight, energy, and memory no longer unconditional allies, writing became a way to hold on to clarity and make sure nothing was lost. Since then, he has accumulated a great deal of writing, much of it still unpublished, waiting for the day it might see the light.
This is a path he began not long ago, with clean hands and the undimmed excitement of someone daring to try something new. Angar doesn't arrive at writing with the past of an established author, but with the honesty of someone who writes because he needs to and with the hope that, little by little, his stories will find their readers.
